Question about amps?

I have the guitar for the first time in my "cube". For many years I have accumulated what is now the harvest stereo components, amplifiers, speakers, etc. Anybody see a problem with connecting this equipment to my new electric guitar? I think it will be a good sound (in the future I hope!), but maybe not??? Input appreciated. I'm really a rookie at this point.
