Can anyone recommend books guitar with commonly used chords, scales, and keys (Theory)?

I want to relearn guitar. I still remember some basic chords, but most of my foundation is not there. My goal 1 would learn the scales being used, chords and keys in the rock / blues. My ultimate goal would be to use this acquired knowledge to improvise. I realize that this will take a long time. Therefore, any suggestions on books with more common chords, scales, and keys? Thank you.

I personally found youtube helped me a lot. It worked better with the placement of the finger, because seeing someone do it instead of looking on paper made it easier. I Guitar For Dummies, but seriously, youtube was better. I learned quickly! Oh, and I will Chordie.com (other similar sites as well) and song search easy to play. I learned even faster just by practicing songs with basic chords like D, G, Em, A, Am, E. … and then the harder they come easier once they play the songs! Good luck.
