Gibson and Epiphone?

There have been questions about Gibson and Epiphone. There really is no difference just like Fender America, Mexico or Korea/China. Same high quality. I have a Gobson Les Paul. A Fender Jazz Bass I had made for me in California. A Squire Telecaster that knocks the boots off a California Telecaster and an Epiphone Dred which I have made into an Acoustic Electric that is OUTSTANDING for slide!

I’m old enough to remember when people were not happy about the Gibson takeover of Epiphone. Same Guitar the way I see it.

I’m not a newbie. Recorded at Chess in Chicago with my own band and as a studio Musician in the 60’s. I was one of the few White People to be accepted into the family.

Gobson/ Epiphone. Same thing.

Fender/Squier. Same thing.

Ego? go for Fender or Gibson.

Value? go for Squire and Epiphone.

There is a huge difference. The Gibson has better frets, the pickups are way more defineable for individual notes, where the Epiphones are muddy, and the finish is alot worse on the cheaper gibsons. But overall they are both nice guitars. If you know your guitars, you will be able to tell the difference right away.
Squire, Fender? Owned them both go with the Fender, even the Mexican unless you are gonna replace the pickups, and tuning heads. If you want the best guitars for the price though, go with the Fender Mexican, or get a Epiphone Les Paul, and put the PAF Gibson pickups in them. You will not be dissapointed. I dont care how I get rated on this listen to me, I have owned all of the models you are talking about, I play for a job, and I wouldn’t steer you the wrong way. All of the guitars are good though. Just depends how you use them, and what you use them for. A good amp makes all the difference in the world too. No guitar will sound good out of junk.
